An Interview with S.E. Isaac

I would like to introduce you all to a writer I have come to know and love. Her name is S.E. Isaac, and I’ve had the pleasure of reading two of her books: Train to Anguish and Out on a Limb: War to Love Part I & II, and they were spectacular. I wrote a book review article earlier this week for Train to Anguish. Now, it’s time to highlight the author of that amazing book! Without further ado, I present to you S.E. Isaac!

Please tell us who you are and a little bit about yourself (fun fact, hobbies, etc).
I enjoy sports, especially soccer and football! My hobbies are pretty boring- writing. (Go figure) I have tattoos & plan on getting my sleeves (both arms) done in 2018, if all goes well. I am an Army Veteran. I was a Black Hawk mechanic and MEDEVAC crew chief. I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

What do you do for a living?
Full time stay at home mother due to my middle son being autistic with mood disorder & puberty. Babysitters cannot handle him and end up calling me nonstop! Can’t get much work done with that 🙂

How long have you been writing?
I have been writing short stories, poems, books, etc. since around the age of 8.
I published my first book, Country Fever, in 2013.

Tell us about your published works.
My published works are of many genres, but I guess if you read all of them, you would say there is romance in all of them (even if it’s just a sprinkle of romance). Erotic romance was my first passion of writing & publishing. Country Fever was first and then it’s Part II Hot Springs. They are not for the faint of heart, which I thought my family members understood when I published them. However, a lot of them bought copies! Made for an interesting talking to by my older relatives (oops!)
Train to Anguish is my Young Adult read and also my very first novel! So that is one of my babies. My tour to Iraq & being one of the few females in a male dominated job inspired me to write it. I needed to get the demons out of my head from what I saw, so Part II & III is where you start to see the action.

Out on a Limb: War to Love Part I & II is a heat level of 5. It has two veterans, who cross paths in a coffee shop, and sparks fly. Throughout the book you see vulnerability and challenges that war veterans go through; however, romance & sex is definitely the main star of this book!

My Time is Yours is my low level heat book (Train to Anguish is a heat level 2). Romance is in the background throughout the book. The main focus is on life struggles, single motherhood and autism. It has humor throughout. Lots of experiences that I’ve had with my own son, who has autism. I think parents & caregivers would enjoy this book because it is realistic as far as the special needs and patience it takes to care for a kiddo with this particular type of autism.

Healing the Badge is a heat level 5. A female FBI agent dealing with the loss of a friend/coworker, who was married. She feels guilty as though she should have been picked for the assignment. She finds comfort in someone within the agency and the heat pours into the pages. However, there is a sprinkle of mystery because the killer of her friend/coworker is still out there.

Halloween Desires was inspired by my favorite holiday & my passion for naughty words. It is a heat level 5. It is a 90 minute read & will make you blush, especially the limo scene.
I am currently part of My Fated Valentine which is a romance anthology & will be released around Valentine’s Day 2018! Super excited. It is my first anthology. My contribution is Kiss of a Vampire, which will be expanded and turn into a series. (Will link up with my book Harper: Vampire Kingdom Series)

What one piece of advice would you give to someone just beginning?
Don’t compare yourself to others. You have your own story to tell readers, so tell it. Be you & don’t lose that sparkle in your eye.

What was your biggest fear when you first started out? What is your biggest fear currently?
My biggest fear was having people absolutely hate my writing/books. I still worry about that, but I’ve come to accept the fact that not everyone will like my books; however, as long as one person likes it then my words have made their mark.

Do you have a website you would like the readers to take a look at?

What’s next for you?
Once I am done with Kiss of a Vampire, which it only needs an ending, then I will go on to my next book, which links to KOAV and Harper. That book will be called Sorceress’ Tale. I am super excited to work on it, because it will be my 2nd novel.

Is there anything else you want the readers to know?
I am always looking for Alpha & Beta readers, so don’t be afraid to approach me. Also, always be you & happy reading
