Starting off, introduce yourself to us. Tell us your name, job, and two fun facts about yourself.
Hi, I’m Tilly! I work for a small marketing agency in Bradford-on-Avon (Wiltshire) as a digital marketing executive. I also try and blog when I can as it helps to keep me sane.
Facts about me: I am 4ft11 tall and I have only just found out at the age of 22 that salt is a condiment?!
What is your current goal that you are working towards?
Personally I am trying to build up to being able to run 5K using the Couch to 5K app! I have always been fairly active and go to the gym regularly, but I suck at running and really want to improve.
What is one obstacle in your way of achieving above mentioned goal? And what is your plan in overcoming that obstacle?
I used to get shin splints quite a lot when running, so I’m being super careful to try and minimise the risk of this. I’ve also asked for a pair of super supportive running shoes for Christmas to give my joints a bit of a rest.
Why is your goal so important to you?
Exercise definitely helps me destress and it really helped me to battle depression whilst I was at uni. I want to prove that I can dedicate time and hard work to achieve a target that I have set. I also want to keep in shape so I think running will help whilst getting me outside a bit more.
Who is your role model? Why?
My nan. She is a great woman and has always worked hard (she still works now in her 70s). She is the most loving a kind person I know, amazing at baking and a whizz at saving! She is the reason I love to bake and has really been a guiding light in my life.
What is one cause/issue you think is important to bring awareness to and why?
I know that a lot of people may say this, but definitely mentalhealth. Not only educating people on how to cope with and how to understand mental illness, but also raising awareness of how to cater for this in the workplace, how to support friends or family who are struggling and also teaching people the difference between feeling down/stressed occasionally because of one off events (which is very common) and bad mental health.
What is one thing you do to relax or relieve stress?
I love to read when I relax, usually in a hot bubble bath! If I really need to destress a lot, I’ll go to the gym then go home and have some comforting food in front of a film.
Do you have any guilty pleasures? If so, what are they?
Definitely not, none of the pleasures are guilty! Haha. I’m not afraid to admit that I love cheesy Hallmark Christmas films and that Tunnock’s Teacakes are my favourite.
