That’s a joke, right? haha. The idea of a writing routine makes me giggle because I have something towards the opposite. I barely write. ever. Periodically, I get days like today where I have nothing but a little house work and writing to do. These are the days I get the most writing done.
I know a lot of people who have a routine of writing daily whether it be at 5am or closer to midnight. I envy them. HOWEVER, a writing routine like that just isn’t sustainable for me. I have too many other things I want to do and need to do. Not to mention, my creativity doesn’t come every single day. I need rest and time to live to build the creativity up for the next time I write.
I suppose you’re disappointed now. “But Alex.. I was expecting you to tell me how you are this dedicated writer who would die without writing everyday.” Yeah…..no… I’m a writer, and I’m dedicated to getting my WIP finished and published. But I refuse to put out trash because I rushed myself or exhausted myself. Writing is a huge part of who I am.. But that’s just it…It is only ONE part of me.
